This is a vehicle liability document required by the state. An SR-22 may be required to reinstate your driving privileges following an uninsured incident or conviction of another traffic-related offense. If a filing should expire or be cancelled the insurance company is required to notify the state of the cancellation or expiration.

A Financial Responsibility Bond can also be used to cover one’s operation of a motor vehicle in the case where no auto is owned, even through a filing is not required.
